Earlier in the year the Year 5 and 6 students from Howick Primary School went to Totara Springs Camp for a chance to learn about the great outdoors. There were various activities such as kayaking, abseiling, rock climbing. Every afternoon there was free time. A chance for us to choose what we wanted to do. The hydroslide and go karts were the most popular places to be. In the evenings, other activities, took place as well. At Totara Springs we had lots of fun, had a really enjoyable time and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!! "Camp! I felt challenged, safe and totally EXCEPTIONAL!!!" "Abseiling, I almost chickened out, but I didn't and it was awesome!!" "Shooting rocks!!!" "The 3 wire bridge was freaky but marvellous!! I froze half way across." "The river slide: it's fast, it's snappy and pronto you're in the river !!! "The most freaky moment was when I did the 3 wire bridge. I couldn't be surefooted because I was blindfolded. It was two storeys high and over a river." "The hot pool was really warm and relaxing. I went there lots of times. It was brilliant when the weather was cold." "Abseiling is my first activity. I can't wait until I get to the top. Ahhhh!!!! In my head, I'm thinking, 'I can do this, I can do this.' I'm at the bottom. I did it!" |
